For the first time in their histories Mendocino Theatre Company and Gloriana Music Theatre join forces to present a summer musical for the whole family. It is by far the most ambitious project to date for the Mendocino Theatre Company. Woody Guthrie's American Song was created and complied by playwright Peter Glazer and arranger Jeff Waxman in 1988, and has become one of America's most beloved musical tributes. Directed by MTC's Elizabeth Craven, Gloriana's Jinni Windsor, and local musician, Dave Alden, the play is composed exclusively of songs and words by Woody Guthrie. An unvarnished celebration of American life –our history, struggles and joys – Woody Guthrie's American Song is a "must-see" for adults and children alike.
