Description

The second play of the 24-25 season welcomes Carey Perloff, A.C.T. Artistic Director Emerita, making her Marin Theatre debut at the helm of Waste. This thriller, still sharply topical today, follows behind-the-scenes political machinations, as a promising politician’s career is derailed by a scandalous affair that has turned tragic. Marin Theatre Executive Artistic Director Lance Gardner returns to the stage for the first time in over five years to play the ambitious politician under fire.

Recent productions of this prescient 1906 work were called “Intellectually stimulating and emotionally gripping. A masterpiece of its time" by The Times of London, while its Off-Broadway revival was hailed by The New York Post as “Remarkable. Full of thought.”

We are thrilled to have Perloff, whose production of Granville-Barker’s brilliant The Voysey Inheritance received rave reviews including the San Francisco Chronicle’s highest rating, lead what will be a gripping work sure to have you on the edge of your seat. Besides Lance Gardner’s welcome return to the stage, the cast includes an array of notable Bay Area actors, including Anthony Fusco, Jomar Tagatac, Liz Sklar, Leontyne Mbele-Mbong, Joseph O'Malley, Anna Takayo, Daniel Cantor, and Mike Ryan.

Please be advised this production contains adult subject matter.
