A concert about various kinds of transformation—physical, biological, emotional, environmental, and musical—with Arnold Schoenberg’s famous early Expressionist work Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night), arranged for piano trio by Eduard Steuermann, and "Fluid" by exciting emerging composer queer Black composer Darian Donovan Thomas (he/him), "The Dragon and the Girl" by Guggenheim Fellow Lisa Bielawa (b. 1968, she/her), "a bridge between starshine and clay" by Peruvian-Quechuan composer inti figgis-vizueta (b. 1993, she/her), plus songs by historical composer Franz Schreker (1878-1974). Hybrid concert; suggested donation for livestream of $20. There is a free, unticketed lunchtime preview at Cafe Europa, JCC East Bay on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 12 PM.
