What if King Hamlet had discovered his brother’s plans before the treacherous poisoning? Or if Romeo had arrived just a few minutes later to discover Juliet awakening? PlayGround playwrights take us on a journey of alternate Shakespearean realities in this first Monday Night PlayGround of the New Year, Monday, January 15, 2024 at 7pm PT, live at Freight & Salvage and simulcast. The writers had just four-and-a-half days to generate their original short plays inspired by the prompt “The Shakespeare Multiverse,” imagining a multitude of variations on Shakespeare’s classic comedies, tragedies and history plays, retold as ten-minute plays.
