Nora: A Doll's House by Stef Smith, after Henrik Ibsen Benefit Performance

Lemonade Night - "Nora: A Doll’s House" at City Lights Theater Company

Saturday, January 27, 2024 (8:00 PM - 10:30 PM) (PST)

Description

Support theatre makers in need through a night out at the theatre! 10% of all ticket sales for this night of "Nora: A Doll’s House" will be donated to the TBA Mary Mason Memorial Lemonade Fund. The more things change, the more they stay the same in this bold new retelling of the classic A Doll’s House, which sets the story in 1918, 1968 and 2018. In each time period, Nora is the flawless wife and mother. But she has a secret that threatens to upend this precariously perfect existence. Ibsen challenged gender norms and outraged audiences when A Doll’s House was first performed in 1879. Today, we look back at the roles allowed women during the fight for female suffrage, the swinging sixties, and the modern day, and wonder how far we’ve really come. This fundraiser is part of our ongoing partnership with City Lights Theater Company in support of the Lemonade Fund. Thank you to CLTC to opening your doors to us every Second Saturday of your 23-24 season!
