Gutenberg! The Musical! by Scott Brown and Anthony King follows Bud Davenport and Doug Simon as they pitch their musical about Johannes Gutenberg to potential Broadway producers in a hilarious backer's audition. With no cast or orchestra, Bud and Doug perform all the roles themselves, switching hats to indicate different characters and using simple props like cardboard boxes and pencils. Their limited research (a quick Google search) leads them to wildly fictionalize Gutenberg’s life, making for a delightful and absurdly imaginative show.
