World Premiere #74: a comic murder mystery from the Central Works Writers Workshop
The Victorian Lady Detectives return in a hilarious murder mystery. Just as the Lady Detectives have accepted a new murder case, a dead body turns up in the parlor of the Hunter Lodging House. And the evidence points to Victorian Lady Detective Katie Smalls herself as the prime suspect. The trail of clues leads our intrepid detectives into a murderous web of anarchists and religious fanatics in their most daring caper yet!
*Kimberly Ridgeway is the 2023-24 Arts Leadership Resident. This residency funds aspiring artistic directors and managing directors in residence at Bay Area theatres for a 12-16 week residency during which the residents with be mentored by the artistic and/or managing director and lead a significant project during the season.
The goal of the program is to support inclusion and representation in theatre leadership by removing roadblocks to arts leadership for historically marginalized groups including BIPOC, disabled, transgender, nonbinary, and female-identified theatremakers. The Arts Leadership Residency is designed to give freelance theatremakers the experience, skills, and connections they need to become the artistic directors and managing directors of the future. The Arts Leadership Residency is also designed to assist theatre companies in creating more diverse future leadership.
