YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN: Non-Union, Volunteer

Audition Non-Union Volunteer

Based on the beloved comic strip by Charles Schulz, this delightful show follows Charlie Brown and the whole Peanuts gang as they tackle life’s big questions—like why the baseball team never wins, whether homework is a government conspiracy, and how to talk to your crush without fainting. With a cast of adults bringing these wise and wonderful kids to life, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a charming celebration of friendship, imagination and the simple joys that make life sweet.

    Characters:

Charlie Brown (Male Presenting, Any Ethnicity, 20s-30s)
    Vocal Range: Baritone Bflat2 - F4

The “everyman” of the show—kind, anxious, self-deprecating, and endlessly hopeful despite frequent disappointment. He’s earnest, honest, and always trying to be good, even when the world seems against him.

Snoopy (Male Presenting, Any Ethnicity, 20s-30s)
    Vocal Range: Tenor C3 - A4

Imaginative, playful, theatrical, and a bit vain. Snoopy lives in his own world, often imagining himself as a World War I Flying Ace or a famous writer. Despite being a dog, he’s the most self-assured of the group. Puppeting experience is preferred, but not required.

Linus Van Pelt (Male Presenting, Any Ethnicity, 20s-30s)
    Vocal Range: Baritone Bflat2 - E4

The philosopher of the group—wise beyond his years but still very much a child who needs his security blanket. He’s gentle, thoughtful, and occasionally precocious. Strong dancers preferred.

Lucy Van Pelt (Female Presenting, Any Ethnicity, 20s-30s)
    Vocal Range: Mezzo Soprano G3-Fsharp5

Bossy, opinionated, and confident. Lucy believes she knows best and wants everyone else to know it too. She’s self-centered but not without moments of vulnerability, especially in her affection for Schroeder.

Schroeder (Male Presenting, Any Ethnicity, 20s-30s)
    Vocal Range: Tenor Bflat2 - A4

Serious, intellectual, and passionate about music—especially Beethoven. Schroeder often acts as the voice of reason but is still a child at heart. He’s usually calm and collected, except when Lucy interrupts his piano playing. Does not need to play piano.

Sally Brown (Female Presenting, Any Ethnicity, 20s-30s)
    Vocal Range: Mezzo Soprano B3 - E5

Charlie Brown’s little sister—cute, funny, and delightfully dramatic. Sally is imaginative, often self-centered, and prone to poetic musings and hilarious misunderstandings.

Ensemble (Any Gender Identity, Any Ethnicity, 20s-30s)
    Vocal Range: All Vocal Ranges

While the musical is written for six main actors, we plan on expanding the cast with a small ensemble of 6 that will portray other Peanuts characters (i.e. Peppermint Patty, Marcie, Pig-Pen, Franklin, etc.) and who will be featured in group numbers like “The Baseball Game” or “Beethoven Day”, just to name a few. These roles can be flexibly cast for balanced harmonies.
