The Real Inspector Hound is a one-act comedic romp by the incomparable playwright Tom Stoppard. This twisted “play-within-a play” occurs when two drama critics – Moon and Birdboot – are assigned to review a new detective mystery. Stoppard leads the audience into this madcap adventure where an Agatha Christie-esque “who dunnit” meets theatre of the absurd! And, just who is The Real Inspector Hound?  Hmmm.

Sunday,   Oct. 5th 6:30 to 8:30PM

Monday, Oct. 6th 7:30 to 9:30 PM

Call backs: Wednesday, Oct. 8th 7:30 to 9:30PM

For the audition, please prepare a 2-minute comedic monologue, bring in a resume, and headshot (if available). 



Rehearsals will begin:

  • A Zoom table read of the script will occur prior to our first rehearsal (date to be determined)

  • In person: Monday, Nov. 10th   through Thursday, Dec. 18th. 

  • We will rehearse in the PInole Community Players theatre from 7 – 9:30PM. 

  • Tech week will begin on Sunday, Jan. 4th.

The show opens:  

  • Friday, Jan. 9th and runs thru Jan. 25th 2026 for three (3) weekends. 

  • There may be a Thursday preview on Jan. 8th. 

  • Performances: Fri./Sat. 7:30PM; Sun. 2:00PM

  • Exception is Saturday Jan. 17th – performance at 2:00PM with no evening performance

NOTE: Production Meetings will be announced ahead of time so actors may attend if able.
