PUPPETEERS needed for the first phase of a children's theater production that will be shown as work-in-progress, workshop performances at SOMArts for two day time shows on August 15. The August performances will be approximately 45 minutes and involve large-scale puppets and video projection. Rehearsals begin mid July with some nights and weekends based on all participants’ availability. Final rehearsals on Friday August 14 after load in.

Please note: NO Muppet-style puppets will be used. The puppetry explored will be modern and nontraditional (in close alignment to Mummenschanz's visual theater work). This will be a non-verbal, visual theatrical production with live music. Puppeteers will not be required to speak lines.

No puppetry experience is required but good to have. The ability to work together in groups and to physically move effortlessly and hold light-weighing props and objects for a short duration is required.

EVERYONE is welcome to apply and a special invitation for puppeteers who identify as BIPOC are especially encouraged.
