CASTING!! for a concert reading of Mirabai, the Barefoot Princess, a musical based on the life of the 16th century mystical poet from Rajasthan.

The rehearsals and reading will be mostly music focussd, with some staging added, time permitting. 1st meeting early April, rehearsals beginning mid April. Singers can expect 1-2 rehearsals/week for first 2 weeks, 2-3/week in the 3rd week, and 3-5 in the final week, including the performance date.
The play has had a staged reading as part of EnacteArts' Festival of new plays and was part of PlayCafé's Showcase of New Musicals at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley.
This will be the first public presentation of the full musical with live singers and musicians!
In San Francisco, May 10 and 11, 1st meeting early April, rehearsals beginning mid April.
Non-Equity, paid. $20/hr. for 25-40 hrs.
8 singer/actors, all ages, ethnicities, genders, and vocal ranges. South Asian singer/actors strongly encouraged.
