Sonoma Arts Live is seeking IMMEDIATE non-AEA audition submissions for the role of MARCUS in the following play:

“Home, I’m Darling” Written by: Laura Wade ; Directed by Jenny Hollingworth

ROLE NEEDED:

Marcus – male presenting (Playing age 40s) Fran’s husband and friends with Johnny and Judy. He dances Jive with Judy. He's a man who likes women, and he's a slightly sleazy, touchy-feely type, self-confident, good-humored as long as things are going his way, probably something of a bully when they aren't. Very comfortable in his own skin, and physically large enough to be potentially intimidating to women.

Play Summary:

How happily married are the happily married? Home, I'm Darling is a dark comedy about the quest to be the perfect 1950s housewife. Judy has Johnny's slippers waiting for him when he arrives home from work, the kitchen's clean, the rooms are aired…but don’t be fooled – this isn’t the 1950s, but a 21st-century 'arrangement' between the two of them. See what happens when Judy and Johnny try to “live the dream” with clothes, furniture and a (faulty) fridge from the 1950s, but with 21st-century problems. The show is set in England.

Rehearsal Schedule Info:

Rehearsals start Sunday April 26, 2026 and will be Sun-Thurs 6:30-9:30 - not everyone called to every rehearsal until Tech

Tech starts Sat May 30 with long days that Saturday (Q2Q) and Sunday, with Dress rehearsals evenings of Mon June 1, Tue June 2, Wed June 3

Preview Thu June 4

Performances June 5-7, June 11-14, June 18-21, Thu-Sat 7:30pm, Sundays 2pm
