Daphne and Ralph are young classics professors who have just made a discovery that's sure to turn them into academic superstars. But something goes disastrously wrong, and Daphne cries out in a panic,"Save me, gods of ancient Greece!" …and the gods actually appear!

Character: A local Greek salesman on the island of Naxos, who serves as a narrator. Befriends Daphne. Speaks with an accent. This role also plays Aleksi and Ares.

Age:30's-40's

Presenting: Male identifying, Russian

Ethnicity: Any

Character: A lovable university custodian-Sweet, well-meaning, a little clumsy. Speaks with an accent. This role also plays Aristide and Ares.

Character: The Greek God of war, depicted as intimidating, rude, manly and aggressive. This role also plays Aristide and Aleksi.

Character: A young and highly regarded American Classics professor who is passionate about her work. Easily frazzled, lacks confidence, workaholic, driven.

Character: An ungainly English Dean of the Classics Department, described as a "lusty force of nature" with a hearty laugh. She is dedicated to preserving and promoting the study of Classics. Speaks with an English accent.

Ralph Sargent: For Audition- Use Sides #3 & #8

Ethnicity: Any

Character: A rising star in Hellenistic studies who has joined Daphne's department. He is an ambitious, charming, attractive college professor eager to make a name for himself, particularly through finding a lost Euripides play.                                                                                                      

Brooklyn De Wolfe: For Audition- Use Sides #5 & #7

Age:20's-30's

Presenting: Female identifying

Ethnicity: Any

Character: A former student scholar who has become a successful big-time movie star. She is gorgeous, stylish, charming and knows how to get what she wants. This role also plays Zoe.

Dionysus: For Audition- Use Sides #1 & #7

Age:Any

Presenting: Male identifying

Ethnicity: Any

Character: The Greek god of wine, revelry, and misrule, sent on a mission from Zeus. He's boisterous, ecstatic, very funny and enjoys the modern university campus. He has no boundaries.

Thalia: For Audition- Use Sides #1 & #7

Age:Any

Presenting: Female identifying

Ethnicity: Any

Character: The ancient Greek muse of comedy and idyllic poetry, who serves as Dionysus's partner. She is sexy and positive, despite not always being the sharpest. She makes up for it with her wonderful self-confidence.
