Crescent Moon Theater Productions is seeking actors 18 and older who are excited by collaborative, devised theater and want to help shape a new work in development.

About the Project

What We Carry is a new documentary theater piece developed in collaboration with veterans and refugees whose lives have been profoundly shaped by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Rooted in a multi-day retreat held with these communities in March, as well as in-depth interviews and lived experiences, the work explores the enduring human impact of war—displacement, loss, resilience, belonging, and the unexpected threads that connect us. About the Process

We are currently developing the script and are looking for actors to join an exploratory devising process. Rather than rehearsing a finished play, we'll be putting scenes on their feet, improvising, experimenting with staging, and discovering what most truthfully brings these stories to life. Your creativity, instincts, and collaboration will help shape the script as it evolves.

Please note: This is not casting for the final production. This opportunity is for the script development process

• Where: Marin County, CA (exact location TBD, most likely San Rafael)
• Pay: $25/hour
• Who: Actors 18 years and older of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to apply.
• When: Tuesday & Thursdays, 2-4pm in San Rafael August 13-Sept 17th
