YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THE END OF THE WORLD by Keiko Green, Directed by Elizabeth Carter, The Lesher

Greg’s been so good: he recycles, eats right, loves his wife, and has only a slightly uncomfortable relationship with his grown-up kid. But when he’s faced with a terminal illness, he becomes obsessed with climate change and the fate of the planet while his wife and child try to cope with their own world's ending. This play about grief—and cringe-y family dinners, and lawnmowers, and Greta Thunberg, and gay bars, and awkward support groups—is an exquisitely touching and hilarious story that anyone who’s ever lost a loved one (or laughed at a funeral) can relate to.

First rehearsal: January 12, 2027

Tech: February 9, 2027

Preview: February 14, 2027

Run: February 20 - March 7, 2027

M - they/them, 20. The star. Our MC. Swinging wildly between pissed, sweet, and mystical, maybe mythical. Sometimes in control of the narrative, sometimes being swept away by the story. M is an emerging drag performer moonlighting as a bar back at the local hole-in-the-wall gay bar downtown.

GREG - This role is CAST

VIV - she/her, 40's-50's. M's mother. The space between. Slightly neurotic and easy to get riled up, she wants with all her might to spend her last days with Greg, alone in a bed with M by their side. She can come across cold, but it's because she is always ready to protect her family.

LILA & OTHERS - she/her, 20's-30's. Viv's younger sister, a high-maintenance yoga gal, who's the center of her own

universe. But she's ride-or-die for family and can be a surprisingly great listener. Also plays: Greta - Part-Greta Thunberg, part-Peter Pan, part-screaming-teenage-girl-at-a-Taylor-Swift-concert, part-Angel of Death. As well as: Grocery Clerk, Shelly, Kathy, Ensemble A

WILL & OTHERS - he/him, 20's-30's. Good-natured and well-meaning, but uncomfortable in social situations and too smart for his own good. M's boyfriend. Also plays: TV Narrator, Frank, Kev, Army Guy, Neighbor 1, Melomys, Ensemble B

JANET & OTHERS - she/her, 60's. Dealing with her wife's cancer diagnosis by at times lashing out, at times being the best older sister you could ever hope for. Blue collar. Also plays: Dr. Thomas - Greg's doctor with a near-robotic, perhaps excessively cold bedside manner. As well as: Toad - A now extinct Golden Toad. A kind of washed-up rockstar, quick to sob. In addition to: Doordash Gal, Suzie, God Mic, Ensemble C

BAT BOY, The Musical Story and Book by Keythe Farley and Brian Flemming Music and Lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe, Directed by Matt M. Morrow, The Lesher
