New Bay Area vocal ensemble Svara Sangha (a community of manifest voices) is seeking vocalists / musicians to audition for an exciting new vocal ensemble. Svara Sangha will specialize in non-denominational spiritual music suitable for a variety of ritualistic contexts, including public and private performances in unique settings, religious services, weddings, bedside of the dying, funerals, yoga and meditation classes, breath work sessions, and other similar spiritual or sacred gatherings.

Looking for vocalists who can confidently hold polyphonic harmony, ideally play an acoustic instrument, and are called to share their unique musical gifts to create transformative experiences.

To begin the audition process, please create a 5-6 minute video recording (using your phone is fine!) with the following content:

- Speak your name and identify your vocal range (low to high) and any instrument(s) you play.

- Identify any vocal ensembles or groups you’ve performed with in the past.

- Tell us why you are interested in being part of the ensemble.

Sing snippets from 2-3 of your favorite songs with spiritual or sacred themes that best show off your voice. You can sing a cappella, or while accompanying yourself on another instrument (piano, guitar, ukulele, drums, etc.) Please do not use a prerecorded backup. 

Email your video recording by February 15 to auditions@svarasangha.com. Please be sure to include a good contact phone number in the email. In-person callbacks will be scheduled on a rolling bases, with final decisions made by March 1.
