Sonoma Arts Live is searching for an extraordinary vocalist to bring the legendary Queen of Soul to life in A Night with Janis Joplin.
This featured role celebrates the music and influence of Aretha Franklin, while also serving as part of the powerhouse female ensemble that shaped Janis Joplin’s musical journey.
We’re Looking For
* Female-identifying African American performer
* Exceptional blues, rock, and legit vocal ability
* Vocal Range: G3–A5
* A commanding stage presence with the power, passion, and soul to honor one of music’s greatest legends.
About the Show
A Night with Janis Joplin is a thrilling celebration of Janis Joplin’s life and music, featuring the incredible artists who inspired her: including Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Nina Simone, Bessie Smith, and more.
Performance Schedule:
Sonoma Arts Live
* December 4 - 20th
* Thursdays–Saturdays at 7:30 PM
* Sundays at 2:00 PM
Plus: An additional January 2027 engagement at Sixth Street Playhouse in Santa Rosa may be available.
Rehearsal Schedule
* Rehearsals Begin: November 1, 2026
* Sundays–Thursdays • 6:30–9:30 PM (until tech)
Compensation
$500 personal reimbursement
