About the Season:

Creator Lab Showcase - Dec 2026

We are holding general auditions for actors to perform in staged readings and presentations of selected works from The Creators Lab. Because the showcase is still in development, specific scripts and roles are not yet available. We are seeking versatile, collaborative performers who are excited to help bring new works to life.

The Creators Lab is SFBATCO's incubator for emerging playwrights and original theatrical works. Through a hybrid writing cohort and workshop series, participants develop new pieces that culminate in a public showcase.

Salt Pepper Ketchup - Feb/March 2027

is a bitter comedy centering on John and Linda Wu, two newly minted American citizens who’ve hewn their piece of the American Dream out of plexiglass and chicken wings, smack dab in the middle of the hood. Enter a new supermarket Co-op and its vanguard- the pioneers for the “new generation” to come. Salt Pepper Ketchup is a contemporary dissection of what happens to people when you threaten where they belong.

JOHN WU - 30s - 40s, Owner of Superstar Chinese-American Takeout. Determined. Asian - American Actor.

LINDA WU - 30s - 40s, John’s wife. Tired. Asian - American Actor.

TOMMY- 20’s - 30s, A young man with big dreams. Resentful. African - American Actor. 

CECE - 30’s, John’s favorite customer. Resourceful. African- American Actor. 

PAUL- 20’s - 30s. New to the neighborhood. Overbearing.Hipster Caucasian Actor

BOODAH - A goon with a peculiar spirit. African-American Actor

MEGAN - 20’s - 30s, New to the neighborhood. Perky. Hipster Caucasian Actor

RAHEEM-20’s,Tommy’s friend. African-American Actor

Pay: 
AEA Tier 2 $545.00/week
