A multi-media Izzie Award-winning dance company, Deborah Slater Dance Theater (DSDT) creates devised, visually gorgeous, acrobatic, talking dance. Celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2019/20, DSDT is dedicated to the creation of all-original performances exploring timely social issues and creating meaningful paths through life’s experience. Using dance, education and outreach to the community, DSDT has created more than 25 original evenings, as well as smaller works, reaching over 20,000 people both locally and nationally. Programming includes school workshops/residencies through Young Audiences; the 210 Residency program, celebrating its 10th Anniversary in 2021, features mentoring, free rehearsal space and 2 produced performances; Ways Not to Drown Workshops; and the soon to premiere Another Way of Looking (AWoL) program, offering low cost online classes, in-studio classes and production shoots in creating virtual performance.
