Eugenie Chan Theater Projects (ECTP) is dedicated to telling the untold stories of Chinese in the American West, stories that include Eugenie’s own family’s immigrant origins on the West Coast in the 1850s, as well as tales shared with Eugenie by fellow Asian Americans. Eugenie combines myth, family lore, imagined histories and humor to capture the epic sweep of these Asians in America. Our productions offer valuable community identity, entertainment, education, and fresh, often humorous perspectives that ask our audiences to examine their own place as immigrants, transplants, and longtime residents of California. Key projects accessible to both English and Chinese speakers, and are no- or low-cost.
