ENVISION: Theatre Bay Area Annual Conference 2023

Monday, April 10, 2023 (8:30 AM - 6:00 PM) (PDT)

Description

Meet with your community in-person and online. Learn about cutting-edge trends and tech. Envision the future of theatre together.

Theatre Bay Area’s 2023 annual conference ENVISION is the future. With a full day schedule of expert panels and speakers, a revolutionary hybrid participation model, and a plenary focused on the most cutting-edge innovations in theatre, ENVISION is focused on modern solutions to some of our industry’s oldest struggles.

The theatre industry has been undeniably changed by the past three years. ENVISION brings together theatremakers from all disciplines and regions across the Bay Area. We will reflect on the challenges we faced, the lessons we learned, and come together to create a future where Bay Area theatre is able to not just survive but thrive.

About the Hybrid Model

Concurrent to the traditional in-person conference, TBA is presenting a virtual conference experience, including unique breakout sessions and versions of the plenary presentations optimized for your screen. Virtual content will expand the offerings and widen the scope of the conference to include experts both local and beyond the Bay. In-person attendees will be able to participate in both virtual and in-person breakout sessions. You can also purchase virtual-only access at a reduced rate. The virtual conference will be streamed on Zoom at the same time as the in-person conference, and the sessions will be recorded and made available to all conference registrants.

Connect with other attendees on social media before and during the conference with #TBACon23!

Covid-19 Safety:

To create a safer and more accessible experience for our medically vulnerable community members, masks are required for all attendees while indoors at the conference, including during Q&As. Presenters and panelists will be taking Covid-19 rapid tests day-of and will be unmasked while speaking on stage.

We also recommend:

  • Using a KN95 or N95 mask.
  • Taking a PCR or at-home Covid-19 test before attending.
  • Getting the most recent Covid-19 booster or vaccination you are eligible for.

We ask that you do not attend if you have tested positive for Covid-19 within 10 days prior to the event or are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19.

Accessibility:

UPDATE: ASL interpretation will be available for the full in-person event. The virtual conference sessions will have auto-generated captioning at the live sessions and full subtitles for the recording playbacks.

We aim to create events accessible to all theatremakers. All venues are wheelchair accessible. We're asking attendees to refrain from wearing strong perfumes or colognes to support a low-fragrance environment. Learn how you can support fragrance-free spaces.

Please reach out to TBA@TheatreBayArea.org with any questions around accommodations.

Refund policy: If you are unable to attend the event, please let us know at least 24 hours before the start of the event and we will be happy to issue a full refund. We apologize, but we are unable to give refunds for late cancellations.
