Are you ready to take your audition game to the next level? Curious about what goes on behind the scenes in the casting room? Join three renowned Bay Area casting directors for this virtual Q&A. Katie Craddock (A.C.T.), Jeffrey Lo (TheatreWorks Silicon Valley), and Salim Razawi (Shotgun Players) will share tips, tricks, inside knowledge, and what they want to see in an audition. Ask your burning questions, grow your knowledge and get inspired!

About the Casting Directors

Jeffrey Lo (he/him) is a Filipino American playwright and director based in the Bay Area. He is the recipient of the Leigh Weimers Emerging Artist Award, the Emerging Artist Laureate by Arts Council Silicon Valley and Theatre Bay Area Director's TITAN Award. Selected directing credits include The Language Archive, Little Shop of Horrors and The Santaland Diaries at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, Chinglish, The Paper Dreams of Harry Chin and Hold These Truths at San Francisco Playhouse and Vietgone and The Great Leap at Capital Stage. He is the Director Community Partnerships and Casting Director at the Tony Award Winning TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, a graduate of the Multicultural Arts Leadership Institute and a proud alumnus of the UC Irvine Drama Department. 

Katie Craddock (she/her) is the Literary Manager and Casting Associate at A.C.T. Previously, as the artistic associate at Berkeley Rep, she supported season planning, casting, and dramaturgy; mentored artistic fellows; moderated discussions; taught playwriting and dramaturgy to teens; served on the board/staff antiracism taskforce; and facilitated the making of new plays at The Ground Floor. Favorite projects so far at A.C.T. include The Headlands, Vietgone 2: Poor Yella Rednecks, The Wizard of Oz, and workshops of commissions by Aleshea Harris, Anne Washburn, and Kate Attwell. 

Salim Razawi (he/him) is an Afghan American actor, director, and teaching artist based in the Bay Area. Selected credits include Water by the Spoonful at SF Playhouse and Disgraced at San Jose Stage Company. Salim also directed TBA's recommended production of CCCT's Once On This Island. In addition, Salim has performed with TheatreWorks, Broadway By the Bay, Altarena Playhouse, Pacific Coast Repertory Theatre, Berkeley Playhouse, Tri-Valley REP, Bay Area Children’s Theatre, Tabard Theatre, Livermore Shakespeare Festival, and SF Shakespeare Festival. When not on stage Salim serves as the Casting Director for Shotgun Players, and does consulting as a freelancer. He can also be seen on a featured TEDx talk. SalimRazawi.com.
