When an African American woman and a Nigerian man announce their whirlwind engagement, their two families gather for dinner in Oakland — cultures clash, tensions simmer, and the pot reaches a boiling point! Directed by Edris Cooper-Anifowoshe, and featuring LHT Artistic Director Margo Hall in the role of Didi, African Stew is an uproarious new play that brings complex relationships to the table.

At a time when so much of the conversation is about who belongs and who doesn't, this deeply human story asks what it actually takes to build a family across class, across culture, and across generations.
